CAR T-Cell therapy is a groundbreaking immunotherapy technique that utilizes patients own T cells to combat cancer. This method has shown remarkable success in treatment of certain Hematologic Cancers and provide new hope for patients over conventional therapies.

In this method, T cells are collected from the patients blood. Scientists add antibody like protein chimeric antigen receptors (CARs) to the T cells. CARs helps the T cell to recognize and attach with cancer cells. Then this CAR T-cells are harvested in the lab to make millions of copies, and injected in the patients bloodstream.

CAR T-cell therapy shows significant efficacy and precise targeting in treating acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL).

This therapy revolutionized the cancer treatment. Ongoing research focuses on addressing it’s limitations, reducing production costs and extending it’s applicability to solid tumors. This therapy also represents a promising step forward in personalised medicine.
