'The Alchemist' Book Review!

Book: The Alchemist
Writer: Paulo Coelho

There are many differences in the goals and dreams of life depending on person to person. There are many types of inspirational words, quotes and poems about dreams and dreamers. For example, APJ Abdul Kalam or D. H. Lawrence; They both said that dreams are what people see when they are awake. And those who dream while awake are very dangerous because they can sacrifice everything, work hard to make their dreams comes true. But have you ever seen it? Someone has dreamed a few times while sleeping and desperately ran from this end of the world to fulfill that dream!

Summary:
The main character of the story is a shepherd boy named Santiago. At the same time, he is a book lover and a traveler. At the beginning of the story, it is described that he lives a very simple life of a shepherd.

The family of the boy wanted him to be a priest, but he wanted to be a pilgrim. So he took some gold coins given by his father and starts his journey. He ran from the end of Andalusia, Spain with a flock of sheep. He ate by selling wool, sleep under saimum tree and buy books.
One day he goes to a village to sell wool and falls in love with a merchant's daughter.  The next year, on his way to sell furs to the same merchant, he dreams several times that there is a treasure hidden near the pyramids of Egypt. To find out the meaning of this dream, he first seeks the help of a countess who advises him to go to Egypt. Then he talks to an old man. He is the one who introduces himself as the King of Salem.  He counseled Santiago in various ways and told him to go to Egypt like the woman. The old man also gave him white and black colored stones, Urim and Thummim.  He asked for a flock of sheep in return.  He says that when one tries to achieve his goal in life, the whole world helps him.  Finally, Santiago sold his flock of sheep and traveled to the pyramids. Santiago first went to Africa, where he lost all his money to a thief.  Although temporarily broken, he got back up again. Santiago's strong spirit was his companion throughout his journey. After losing all his wealth, he took a job in the shop of a crystal merchant and here the crystal business flourished due to his intelligence. He worked there for many days and collected the necessary money.  He started his journey again to fulfill his dreams.

While reading the whole book, you will feel like you are the Santiago of the story. It will feel like you are acting in that role. It will feel like the book shows your thoughts from the very front. What you want to do in life, what you want to be, where you want to go is described in detail.  It's as if your sense of life is portrayed through a shepherd boy.
Inspirational books always bother me. But while reading this book you never feel that the author is giving you motivation through a story, urging you how to stick with it. The book is not only inspirational but also a philosophical novel.  Philosophical theories are expressed in various quotes of the book.
